The Japanese Wife a Janapnese, Bangali & English movie by Aparna Sen which was scheduled to be released in 2008 is going to be released now on April 9th 2010.
Starcast of the movie Rahul Bose, Raima Sen, Moushmi Chatterjee & Japanese actress Chigusa Takaku has given a brelient performance in the movie, the story is written by Kunaol Basu and music is given by Sagar Desai.

The movie is about a teacher Snehmoy [Rahul Bose] and his Japanese Wife Miyage [Chigusa Takaku] who has lived their whole life away from eachother but shared their love by letters and still remain commited and loyal to eachother, Sandhya[Raima Sen] has played a role of a young widow sharing the house with Rahul Bose but not his heart, he loves his wife who is in Japan, but Sandhya moves them a bit when she comes to live with her 8 year old boy at Snehmoys house.

The movie was done in one year, the plot started in 2007 and was complere in 2008, it was earlier named The Kite, but then was changed to the story line and name became The Japanese Wife, being a bangali & Japanese couples story, it was shoot at Kolkata, Sundarbans and the Japanese cities of Yokohama and Tsukuba, Ibaraki,
Konkona Sen Sharma daughter of Aparna Sen was the first choice of the movie for Raima Sen’s charactewr, but because Aparna thought that Raima shares almost same nature as Rahul Bose, she selecte Raima for the role, also for the casting of a Japanese wife they had to select a Japanese girl and to do this job, they hired an agency for the audition and they found Chigusa Takaku as the best suitable candidate for the role, but the problem was that Chigusa couldnt speak english at all, to converse with her a transletor was hired who was with them throughout the shoot.
After somany problems and solutions, the movie is now ready to be released on 9th April 2010. Hopefully we will get to watch it now,
