Staring at the blank page since past 5 minuits, thinking about writing something about Ritiesh Deshmukh , but am blank because he has already wrote manything in just one column.

Looks like stolan words ? … Yes and No too…

Well here i am talking about Riteish Deshmukh who has started writing with his first ever column for HT City, and has shared his experience of first ever film at the age of 3 he had watched and his feelings about how he feels now when he is writing first time ever for a column, how he was feeling at the first day of his acting class in Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York by his training Teacher.

He has shared it on twitter with his fans too, here is what he speaks in HT City.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE by Riteish Deshmukh

Staring at the blank page… One hour later… still staring at the blank page. Ok, I think it’s high time I start moving my fingers on the keyboard. What do I write about? Well, I think this is a good topic, no, no… wait, I think that is better.. hmmm… but the other thing would be interesting. Ohh GOD!! HELP!! It’s a strange feeling of too many thoughts running through my head and at the same time, I’m completely blank. It’s like sitting for an examination staring at a question whose answer you know but can’t remember.

The first time I was asked to do a scene at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York by my acting teacher, she told me to choose a scene/character that’s closest to my personality so it would be easier to perform and that in turn would give me the confidence to overcome my fears. I have decided to follow the same principle in writing too.

What do I love the most? What have I grown up on? A simple question sometimes has a simple answer.

Movies: My first memory of a film was sitting in a rickshaw in Latur (my hometown), travelling with my mom and brothers. She was holding my younger brother, Dhiraj, then 6-months-old, in her arms. I, 3, was sitting on one side, and my brother, Amit, was 5 and so allowed to hold the railing and stand. I don’t remember many things about my life as a three-year-old, but this one I do since I was going to watch a movie in a theatre for the very first time.

I still remember all of us sitting in a stuffy theatre along with a few aunties. Amit was the only lucky one to get a chair for himself, while Dhiraj and me had to settle for laps. I was mesmerised with the visuals that I didn’t understand. Sounds of gunshots, dancing and a bald man lingered in my memory for a long time. Over the years we watched that movie a hundred times on video and recited every dialogue and danced to each song. As time passed I watched many films in theatres, but nothing matched the feeling of watching a big screen for the very first time.

Strangely, we remember all the first times in our lives. The fact it’s the first time, is special. That day in that theatre, at the age of 3, I lost my virginity to watching films and today I lose it to writing. So it’s never too late to lose your… VIRGINITY.
