Anoop Desai’s, an American Idol contestant, ‘My Name’ Inspired by Bollywood

Anoop Desai is now days in hit list because he is now American Idol’s first lucky No. 13. With his indubitable style and talent, he entered into the seventh week of competition. Now, Anoop is ready to release his first album, called ‘May 4’ called All is Fair.

His single, My Name is influenced by an Indian cultural background. My Name has a double meaning. One the one hand, he is responding to childhood mates who make fun of his name.  And it is also about false audacity; each song of the “All is Fair” album describes a mindset or a time in his life.

My Name, which is also available on iTunes, is a pop record influenced by a Bollywood feel. Desai is from Chapel Hill and was a member of UNC’s a capella group, the Clef Hangers.
