From the trailers, the movie did not impress me much, infact, I was wondering why in the world Yashraj is making this movie. I think this might be one of those odd films which Yashraj Films picked. As expected, the movie wasn’t great either, the promotions could not manage to get even 50% of the seats full. Around 25% of the seats were full, mostly full of people like me, who prefer to enjoy the Friday nights, the start of the weekend… haha
So, coming back to the movie. Well, the movie is about Pinky (Deepika Padukone), a roller skate dancer who loses her eyes in a freak accident. Nandu (Neil Nitin Mukesh) who is also known as One Shot Nandu, a fighter who fights blind folded and known to win all the fights. Nandu helps Pinky to achieve her goal, i.e. getting onto a dance competition. Nandu ends up being Pinky’s dance partner and as expected, they both fall in love.
So, that’s it? You might say, we already know this crap, but seriously, there is nothing more to it. The movie starts and ends like a cake walk. In fact, you can predict the whole movie, right after watching first 30 minutes. That’s it, after that, each and everything is totally predictable. It looked more like a story written in early 90s but released now. Even the movie was scripted so badly, that every scene ends up becoming a yawn.
No doubt, Deepkia was excellent, she did her part very well, I really loved her acting, it was not tough playing a blind girl’s character and on the top of it, dancing using the roller skates. Even Neil was good but he looked worst in this dancing shoes, he couldn’t even express the feelings through dance and yet both kept on winning rounds. (They had participated as partners in a talent show)
They even tried to add some twists and turns in the story but those silly formulas worked in late 80s and early 90s. We are fed up of watching the same things again and again.
On the acting front, like I said earlier, Deepika was very good, Neil was good too but he should stay away from dancing in the movies. Kay Kay Menon was royally wasted. Such a brilliant actor and he got only few minutes of screen presence. The rest of the characters were okay. The music was good but nothing impressive. Liked couple of songs but frankly speaking, can’t even remember the words.. so in short, it did not create any impact.
The script and direction were the biggest flow. The story was going nowhere, in and every scene, you feel like “I have already seen this crap earlier”. Kind of sad to see Deepika’s hard work getting wasted.
So, overall, I would rate this movie

Generally, I dont watch movies, but sadly, I entered into this one, and I realised that there was no need of some charcters, specially K.K Menon’s character in the movie. In-fact the role could be done any other actor. Pradeep totally wasted K.K Menon’s skill. The slag used by Dips n Neil was also not defining them as rowdie and middle-class.
