FacebookAfter what seemed to be a draught in the Hindi Movie scenario, it is now very soon going to be a Flood-Situation! New-York set the pace for it, which however could not gather as much hoopla as expected, following close on the heels is the latest Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor starrer “Kambakkkht Ishk” (Hope i got the number of K’s right! ) Filled with sexy locales of Hollywood and special appearances by the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh, and not to forget Denise Richards! This movie is glamour and glitz at its best. But, sadly, the good part ends there, exception being Kareena’s uber cool wardrobe and gravity-defying heels-to-die-for!
Kambakkht Ishq’s plot revolves around the plot of Hate at first sight! Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) is a stuntman from Hollywood who believes women are only to be used , not married to. Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) is a medical student-soon to be surgeon, who doesn’t believe in love, and thinks the utmost lowest of Stunt-men. The lead couple come face-to-face at Simrita’s best friend Kamini’s and Viraj’s brother Lucky’s wedding, which both of them are unhappy about and are desperate to stop .
There are many pit-falls in the non-existent storyline, however, what stands commendable is the brialliance put into it, by the lead pair whose chemistry is worth watching. Akshay Kumar’s comic timing is well acclaimed now, which is supported by good acting on the part of Kareena Kapoor. Supporting the lead pair are Aftab Shivdasani and Bebo’s best-friend-forever Amrita Arora. To add to the bollywood masala are cameos by Javed Jaffery and Kirron Kher.
This movie might rake in the moolah because of the lead-pair, and some worth-watching stunts, However all this cannot still, make up for the lack of a solid storyline! All-in-all a movie to be seen only if you have time to kill . And a word of advice – enter with zero expectations,and you might enjoy the frills!
