Vivek Oberoi and Suresh Oberoi might get Arrested

The Oberoi Father and Son are in trouble, the metropolitan magistrate court on 28th July 2011 issued a non bailable warrant against Vivek Oberoi and his father Suresh Oberoi for Rs.3.9 Crore cheque bounce case.

The report was filed by Jawaharlal Agicha complaining against Vivek and his father Suresh. Also other four members from board of directors and a manager from Oberoi Mutimedia Ltd are accused in the case. According to Jawaharlala Agicha’s complain, people from Oberoi Mutimedia Ltd including its MD Anand Oberoi and its manager Anil Lalwani had requested to provide financial assistance for the company’s brand promotion in India and abroad.

Agicha said,

I was given a proposal of issuing Bill of Exchange and post-dated cheques as repayment of the Rs 3.9 Crore loan and received Rs.50,000 in January 2010, and Rs.3 crore cheque of Union Bank of India was bounced,

Also Agicha’s lawyer said that the cheque was dishonoured by New India Co-op Bank, Versova, with the remark account closed.

Now because the accused did not appear for the three hearings of the case since December 2010, the court has finally issued non bailable warrant against the accused.
