Telecom executive steals Mohammed Rafi tribute show

T.S. Jyothiraman the executive of Lemon mobiles mesmerized the audience by his performance at a musical event marketing, 31st death anniversary of Mohammed Rafi,

For Jyothiraman Singing is just a hobby, and a big Rafi fan overshadowed the established singers like Anand and Roop Kumar who had also come to Delhi to perform and pay tribute to the legendary singer.

The show was organized by Mohammed Rafi Academy, the show started with singer Anand Raj Anand’s performance.

Anand said,

He (Mohd Rafi) may not be between us but he is still alive through his musical legacy

Aafter that as soon as Jyothiraman started singing, whole auditorium full of fans was filled with cheers,

Jyothiraman the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Lemon Mobiles said,

Rafi sahab had an unimitable style. It is very difficult to imitate him. I have tried my level best to do justice to the songs that I am singing tonight.

For the last song he sang was ‘O duniya ke rakhwale’ from the film ‘Baiju Bawara’, people couldn’t stop themselves from giving a standing ovation to him.

After that Mohammed Rafi’s son Shahid Rafi took the stage and entertained people with songs like ‘Pukarta chala hun main’, ‘Badan pe sitaare’ and ‘Bar bar dekho’.

Mohammed Rafi Academy was set up by Shahid Rafi last year to teach Indian classical and contemporary music to youngsters and groom talent, mostly from the economically marginalised groups, who wanted to make music their livelihood.

Also Roop Kumar Rathod the fine singer mesmerised the audience with songs ‘Chaudhavi ka chand’, ‘Yaad na jaaye’, ‘Chahunga main tuzhe’.

The show was at Siri Fort auditorium attended by eminent personalities like union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, MP Shashi Tharoor and his wife Sugandha Pushkar and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajeev Shukla.
