SRK and Kajol ring the NASDAQ

Their long awaited movie – My Name Is Khan is just around the corner, and the hot jodi of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are leaving no stones unturned to promote the same, full throttle! One of the most innovative ways of garnering some publicity while in US for promotion n of their flick is by ringing the opening bell at NASDAQ, one of the world’s biggest stock exchange, an honour usually reserved for CEOs of major corporations. In fact, by doing so, they created a record of sorts by being the first Indian Actors to do so.The honour is a very big one as well, with over 3, 700 companies listed, the NASDAQ has more trading volume than any other stock market in the world.

Srk and Kajol’s “My Name Is Khan”is releasing Feb 12 2010. They both reached NASDAQ and rang in the first trading day of February at 9.30 a.m. , Monday at a ceremony broadcast live on many television networks across the globe.

In his usual trademark wit, joking about the same on his Twitter account, Shahrukh wrote – “Nasdaq will be fun. Have to make sure I reach on time, otherwise will end up being blamed for economic upheaval across the world too… ha ha.”

The records being made by this movie is increasing by the day, it first started with news doing the rounds that “My Name Is Khan” was reportedly sold to Fox Star Studios last July for a record $21 million, the highest price ever paid by a distributor for a Bollywood film. Well, kudos to the team, and all the best too, for its release on 12th February. We hope it breaks many more records.
