Sonakshi Sinha says no to film with Shahid Kapoor

Sonakshi Sinha may have signed Bollywood remakes of two South films, one with Akshay Kumar (Rowdy Rathore), another with Salman Khan (Kick), but the actress is not willing to be a part of the remake of South film Vettai which will have Shahid Kapoor in the lead.

Sonakshi Sinha has rejected the film with Shahid Kapoor on the ground that the film doesn’t have a meaty role for her. Apparently, the actress found the plot to be very male dominated and did not find herself suited for it. As a source tells a daily,

Director N Linguswamy especially flew down from the South to give Sonakshi a narration. But at the end of it she felt that the story had little for her to do.

Since Sonakshi Sinha plays prominent parts in her upcoming films Dabangg 2, Joker, Rowdy Rathore, Lootera and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, she felt that signing up for Vettai would not be a wise decision. Now the reports are that the makers of the film have approached Ileana for the role. Ileana will soon make her debut in Bollywood with Anurag Basu’s film Barfee that features Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.

The original Vettai (Tamil) is a film about two brothers played by Madhavan and Arya, and how they put a brave front against a menacing mobster. Yes, the film is a quintessentially masala caper with its heroes being the star attraction. Like other South films, Vettai comes loaded with terrific fight sequences. Naturally, the scope for any actress remains limited in such a movie.
