Soha Ali Khan in Deepa Mehta’s Next

Soha Ali Khan has also joined a crew of actors who like art and serious film. Yes that’s true, the actress is has bagged Deepa Mehta’s dream project, Midnight’s Children. The film will be an adaptation of the Booker Prize winning novel by Salman Rushdie.
The film already has big names of art film actors, including like Shabana Azmi, Nandita Das, Seema Biswas and Irrfan Khan. She is another lucky one who joined her crew. Excited Soha says,

I have never worked with someone as senior as Deepa so it is an honour for me. I haven’t worked with many female director except Sangeeta (director of her film ‘Life Goes On’) so that will be another experience all together.

Despite the excitement, Soha does not want disclose the details of the project, which will go on floor later this year. She says,

Oh she (Deepa) would kill me if I talk about it. It is at very initial stages and she has just allowed me to say that I am a part of the film beyond that my lips are sealed.

Apart from Deepa’s project, Soha has also signed two back-to-back comedy flicks, in one of which she will romancing with Shreyas Talpade, who is also the producer of the flick. 31-year-old actress said,

Chemistry has a really funny script by a new director Sai Kabir. He is funny and he acts so well that he is made my work easier. My character is really wacky, mad, bohemian, young with lots of rogue.

The second one is with Fox star which with an English working title of Phone Thief. It revolves around my character who is a writer and what happens with her in a day.

When asked why she chose comedy flick instead of serious one, the actress says,

Oh I don’t know if I have an image of a serious person. The one close to me know that I have a great sense of humour. My mother (Sharmila Tagore) swears by it. So if I can tickle a bit then why not be a part of something that entertains after all the heavy duty films I have done.
