‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ will be Shot in Kasmir University’s Campus

It has been ages when any Hindi film has been shot in Kashmir, but Priyank Chopra starrer, ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ will be shot in Kashmir University. Though Kashmir is facing many problems, including riots and terrorism, but still the State Government wants to promote tourism in Kashmir.

The KU officials gave permission on the request from the State tourism Department in order to promote tourism in the state.  According to sources, the varsity officials had demanded a meager amount of Rs 15,000 from the crew for shooting in the campus, which was later waived off.

Though KU is facing lot of financial crisis, and moreover when the government has also refused to increase financial support to the varsity, they could have easily charged a decent amount from the production house in order to maintain their self sustainability. But, KU has allowed the shooting free of cost.

According to reports, the production house has paid handsome amount for shooting in a private Srinagar locale for two days. And when cast and lead actors and actress are charging so high, including Priyanka Chopra, who is playing lead character, has charged 6 Crore for the movie.

As per sources,

“The university is showing generosity to Bollywood and offering prime shoot-locales free of cost. At the same time, the students are being made to pay hiked fee.”

‘Saat Khoon Maaf’, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, is based on Ruskin Bond authored ‘Susanna’s Seven Husbands’, featuring Mohan Lal, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Irrfan Khan, Anu Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah’s youngest son Vivaan Shah as male leads. A Russian actor, whose name was not revealed, brings up the seventh husband.
