FacebookIt’s so true that currently, Abhay Deol is known in this Bollywood Film industry for doing the different kind of movies, either it is Oye Lucky Oye Lucky, Manorama or DevD, he is outstanding. Now he is back again with his new upcoming movie, called ‘Road Movie’ which is a tale of a Vishnu (Abhay Deol) who discovers his life, love and laughter while traveling in Indian highways.
Vishnu, who wants to escape from his father’s uncertain hair oil business, and sees an old truck beckons as his ticket of freedom He offers to drive the very old vehicle across the desert as the vehicle has been sold t a museum. As he moves across the harsh topography of the desert, he releases that he is not only transporting that tattered vehicle but also watching live cinema.
One day, Vishnu unwillingly picks up new highway. On his way he meets with Usmani, a wandering old entertainer (Satish Kaushik) and a striking gypsy woman (Tannishtha Chatterjee). The movie is all about their journey in the barren land, searching for water and a mysterious fair. The journey takes turn when they are waylaid by corrupt cops and notorious water lord.
95 minute film is produced by the US-based Ross Katz and Susan B. Landau.Director of films like ‘English August’ and ‘Split Wide Open’, Dev Benegal directed the movie. The movie has already acquired huge appreciation at the world festival circuit, including the Toronto Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival.
After seeing track record of Dev Benegal and Abhay Deol and the buzz around the movie, ‘Road, Movie’ sure sounds interesting.
