Priyanka Chopra Silently Helps Anurag Basu

“Nobody is friend in industry, If you are failure in box-office.” How true is it? After the debacle of Kites in the box-office, Anurag Basu is facing the same issues when it came to Anurag Basu’s Kishore Kumar biopic. Then the director decided to focus on his prestigious project Silence, which has been facing problems from the starting. But this time, Priyanka Chopra came as savior for Anurag Basu by sacrificing her role in the flick.

Anurag Basu’s Silence, stars Ranbir Kapoor as a deaf and mute hero, he cast Priyanka Chopra to play the role of a mentally challenged girl. The story starts when Anurag Basu has been searching for another lead actress. Asin was supposed to play the other female part. But Asin turned down, Anurag approached Katrina, but she also turned down because bother of them discovered that Priyanka’s role is a far stronger. As a result, no-other lead actresses were interested in the project, and this had put the film on hold for six months.

Realizing the fact that film is in shelved-mode, she decided to volunteer to play the vacant female part (which is believed to be the weaker part), so the more powerful female part would be easier to cast. A source says,

“Silence is too powerful a project to be stalled. Priyanka knows this and is only too happy to do whatever is best for the project. Even if it means swapping roles.”

Earlier Kajol also sacrificed the female lead role for Rani Mukerjee in Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
