Nalin Gets a Bollywood Break!
After filmmakers such as Imtiaz Ali and Neeraj Pandey, one more Delhi University (DU) alumni, Nalin Singh is stepping toward Bollywood. Nalin Singh, a theatre actor and documentary filmmaker, will share a screen with Anupam Kher, who is reportedly playing German dictator Adolf Hitler.
Directed by Rakesh Ranjan and produced by Anil Sharma, the untitled film, Nalin will play Joseph Goebbels, one of the closest associates and most devout followers of Hitler. Nalin will give company to his DU fellow, Imtiaz Ali, who is also the creative consulting director for the movie. Nalin says,
“I’ve been performing on stage and have also been as an assistant behind the camera, but this will be my big break in a Bollywood movie. I’ve done extensive research on Hitler and have also written the script for the movie.”
Disclosing about how he bagged the film, Nalin said,
“I’ve known Imtiaz since college. I met him through a common friend – Neeraj Pandey (of A Wednesday fame). When this movie came up, he suggested my name for the role of Goebbels to the director and I was selected for it.”
“I had to put on weight for the movie and have done extensive research on my character. Goebbels used to limp so I have been limping and working on my character every day.”
The shooting of the movie will start from July 15 in Delhi. The shooting locations will include the DU campus, the Ridge and some marketplaces in Delhi.
The movie will also be shot in Pondicherry and some parts of Germany. Indian Ocean will compose the music of the movie. As the movie is about fusion, we are hoping to create some fusion in music too.”
