MNIK, the first Hindi movie for visually impaired people

‘My Name is Khan’ is again in new,  but not for its collections or any other   controversy, but this time it is in news because it has become first Bollywood film which will be released in cinemas across the country with Hindi audio description (AD) for visually challenged people. Isn’t good news for people who are partially sighted or blind?

An additional narration will describe action sequences, body languages, costume and panorama of the scenes. But don’t worry these description will disturb the dialogues of the movie. In-fact these descriptions are well fitted between passages of dialogues.

This is the first time Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is bringing Hindi movie on AD track in collaboration with Bollywood. RNIB is already bringing AD track for English movies in collaboration with 20th Century Fox.

For ‘My Name is Khan’, RNIB and Deluxe Digital Studios firstly created an English AD track , which was later on translated into Hindi before being recorded by a Hindi speaking audio describer.
