Manish Malhotra Turns Director

The star fashion designer Manish Malhotra is now set to become a director and his movie will go on floors this year. According to a source, his best buddy Karan Johar who is known for his loyalty and supportive attitude towards his friends will produce the film under the banner of Dharma Productions. However, Manish is hesitant in giving any information about the project as he thinks it’s too early to reveal anything.

Manish had made the announcement of his intentions years ago, but he was so busy as a designer that he could not fulfill his desire of becoming a director. Meanwhile, his nephew Punit Malhotra has already debuted as a director with the movie I Hate Luvstorys with Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan in a lead pair. Surprisingly, this movie is also produced by none other than Karan Johar.

Manish became a leading designer of the film industry when he changed the looks of sweet Urmila Matondkar to hot and sexy Urmila in Ramu’s movie Rangeela with his eccentric outfits. After that he became a successful designer with the movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Chameli, Company, Jab We Met, Veer Zaara, Mujhse Dosti Karoge Hum Tum and Welcome.
