Love You Maa is Dharma Productions next fillum to hit the big screen,
Karan has roped Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal as the lead cast in the fillum, which will be Directed and written by Siddharth Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar.
Itss a remake of 1998 film Stepmom
The Music will be givne by Shankar Ehsaan Loy
To stay away from the controversies like a good producer Karan has bought the rights of the English blockbuster Stepmom which is directed by Chris Columbus starring Ed Harris, Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, Jena Malone and Lynn Whitfield.
Kajol will be in Susan Sarandon’s character the estranged wife and mother hit with cancer.
Stepmom is a story of how Jackie and Luke are divorcing after years of marriage and two children, Anna and Ben. Their new stepmother, Isabel, wants to be involved in the children’s life, but is unwilling to sacrifice anything for her work. Jackie considers this to be selfish and rude, sparking a conflict between the two women. When cancer enters the picture, everyone is forced to grow in order to settle their differences. The writers of the film are Gigi Levangie, Jessie Nelson, Steven Rogers, Karen Leigh Hopkins and Rob Bass.
We have heard that Karan might change the name of the movie because of another movie with somewhat similar name Thank You Ma
for Love You Maa title, Karan had put up a poll on twitter saying,
Our shortlist for title options, which one do you like? Love You Maa, We Are Family, Hamesha and Forever or Ghar
Talking about twitter, also Director, Siddharth Malhotra often tweets about how he like Kajol’s acting and After wrapping up a shoot with the actress and the children in the film, he says,
‘kajol is the nicest actor/human being one can ever work with or meet, very fortunate to have her in my film and life as a friend’
Siddharth also tweeted something related to the release date of Love You Maa, he said,
If d film is out aug then mid june and if in sept then the promo will be out mid july.
This seems like we will get yet another hit from Kajo and Karan by the end of 2010.
