Katrina Kaif Will Play Zany Character

After doing a serious films, like Rajneeti, Katrina is gearing up to do a film, in which she will play like Goldie Hawn, as the spunky girl who joins the army in the 1980 comedy Private Benjamin? News is that, Katrina will also produce the movie.

In the movie, Katrina will play a zany character bumbling though a man’s world using her instincts to rise above gender politics. Recently, Katrina played cricket on the sets of Rajneeti and now, she wants to show her real-life character in her reel-life characters. She says,

“I love doing that,” says Katrina. “I’ve always loved doing things which I’m told girls can’t or shouldn’t do. This is the way it was in our family where all of us sisters grew up with one brother in our midst who would do fun things while we girls were expected to do girlie things like play with dolls and learn cooking. No way!”

Remembering when she broke gender rules on the sets of Rajneeti, she says,

“In Bhopal I was told by my crew members Prakash Jhaji and Ranbir that the cricket games on location were not for me. So I bought my own cricket gear and forced my way into their games. Who says girls can’t play cricket? Or join the army?”

This film on army life will get priority over the remake of the French film whose rights Katrina recently purchased.
