Kabir Books Guru Dutt’s ‘Pyaasa’

Whosoever loves watching Hindi movies, must remember Guru Dutt’s 1957 cinematic masterpiece, Pyaasa! The film, which is known for Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rahman’s acting, dialogues and heartwarming songs, is now taking a form of book.

Authored by Nasreen Munni Kabir, the book will be titled as The Dialogue of Pyaasa”, which will include extensive commentary by Kabir and is is available in Hindi, Urdu and English.

The film was a masterpiece thanks to Abrar Alvi’s flawless script and Guru Dutt’s deft direction and impeccable performance.

The London-based documentary filmmaker and author was the first to present Indian film dialogue in a three-language format, starting with The Immortal Dialogue of Mughal-e-Azam (2007), followed by Awaara and Mother India (2010).
