John Abraham Playing Period Warrior in His Next

So far, John has been seen as urban, contemporary themes with stylish look but now the actor is turning into lavish warrior of 18th century in his forthcoming flick. The film will be directed by John’s friend Sabal Shekhawat, who has directed the star in several high-profile ads and produce by Madhu Mantena.

The character of John will be based on warrior. A source said,

“The role needs him to be extremely agile…almost panther-like. He will have to train in a martial arts discipline from the 18th century and also specific to the community that the real-life character belonged to,”

John Abraham, who is quite excited about the untitled project, said,

“I like new challenges thrown at me as an actor. I’ve never done a period film. It would be nice to get into that space.”

When asked from Madhu Mantena, who has purchased the rights of a book on a warrior, regarding the character, he said,

“But I can’t disclose the name of the book because we haven’t fully closed the deal. I’ve bought the rights at a huge price (close to Rs.75 lakh). In costume, John bears a striking resemblance to the real-life warrior.”

But, John has started preparing for his warrior film to become like real-time warrior.
