Is Pratik Babbar Doing JP Dutta’s War Trilogy?

JP Dutta, who is known for making war-films, is once again ready to trilogy of his war. The filmmaker is now in a process of finalizing his cast members for his next based on dramatic soldiers to be shot at Kargil.

As of now JP has finalized Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah for the role and looking for Ranbir Kapoor also but finally he zeroed on Prateik Babbar. A source says,

“JP saab wanted Ranbir Kapoor whom he saw fitting the bill perfectly. But then JP saab decided he wanted a much younger actor with no image to play the key role.  The final choice was Pratik Babbar, who yet has no releases as a leading man and is therefore liberated from an image.”

“JP Dutta’s association with Pratik goes back to the boy’s mother, the late Smita Patil, who had one of her biggest commercial successes in JP’s Ghulami. By the end of the meeting, JP saab was sure Pratik had the ‘IT’ quality that the young soldier’s role needed.”

When contacted, JP Dutta was discreet in his statements on his meeting with Pratik.

“I’ve met the boy. I liked his sincerity. Pratik reminded me so much of his mother. It would be a delight to direct him. But I cannot talk about the cast until we’ve put it all together.”

Let’s wait till the film is ready to go on floor and who else joins JP Dutta’s crew.
