Some actresses in the Bollywood are mostly known for their social causes, Gul Panag is one of them. The former Miss India and actress Gul Panag will now be seen in a new avatar of a crusader disseminating awareness about social evils like female foeticide and drug addiction.
The actress has joined hands with the Chandigarh administration for this endeavor. The city’s health department has enrolled a city-based NGO Shamsher Singh Foundation under the ongoing partnership initiative program of Chandigarh administration. Gul says,
“We have assured the officials concerned that our NGO will work with full dedication and commitment. We will make this programme of generating awareness against female foeticide and drug addiction a huge success in this region.”
They will monitor the Ultra Sound centers to prevent sex determination tests as well as volunteering as decoy clients to conduct raids. They are also supposed to encourage people to celebrate the birth of girl child as a moment of celebration also they are to identify drug addicts and help them shun the habit.
