Gowariker Not Directing Buddha

It seems that this year is not so good year for Ashutosh  Gowariker! As the director has faced debacle of Khelien Hum Jee Jaan Se and now the filmmaker is out from his dream project, Budha. Yes, that’s true that Ashutosh will not direct Budha.

The Spice head honcho B K Modi has apparently been working on the film for over a decade now. A source says,

“There have been unresolved creative issues between the writer, producer and Ashutosh. The producers want to make it as an international film. They were not very happy with the changes Gowariker introduced in the script. The makers then decided to look for another director.”

Denying this however, B K Modi says,

“Nothing has been decided yet. We just released No Problem and Ashutosh was busy with Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. So we haven’t sat down to decide what to do. We will figure it out in the next few days.”

When asked if there are any creative differences between the writer and the director, Modi reasons,

“Ashutosh hasn’t been able to find the right actor for the role.”

Modi, who has no plans to shelve the project, says,

We are in talks with other directors for Buddha because they may have a different perspective on the film. We are keeping our options open but nothing is finalized yet. The script belongs to Spice and the film will be made with or without Mr. Gowarikar.”
