Emraan Says No to Play Charles Sobhraj

Though Emraan Hashmi has many shades inside him but still he has not been able to get over the image of Serial Kisser. Emraan, who played a role loosely inspired by Dawood Ebrahim in ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’, received an offer to play serial killer, Charles Sobhraj but the actor want to break his image of Serial Kisser or Killer.

The role of offered by director, Prawal Raman, director of flicks like ‘Zabardast’, ‘Gayab’ and ‘Darna Mana Hai’, wanted to bring the life of Sobhraj onscreen, and for that he chose Emraan Hashmi, but the actor turned down. However, the actor declined the offer saying that he do not want to do negative role so soon after “Once Upon…” A source says,

Emraan does not see the point of doing another role on the same lines. He does not want to be type-casted in any particular role. Not that he will never do another role like that of Shoaib but he wants some gap.

Sobhraj, who is a French citizen and is of Indian and Vietnamese origin, is serving a life sentence in Nepal for the murder of an American tourist in 1975. The 66-year-old Sobhraj is alleged to have killed 12 people across Asia in the 70s.
