Emraan: Crook’s Role is Best Ever Character

After giving a box-office hit, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Emraan Hashmi is again excited to see his next, Crook. The actor believes that the movie takes a realistic look at a burning topic, talking about racial discrimination against Indians.

Produced by by Vishesh Films and directed by Mohit Suri, the movie stars Emraan Hashmi and Neha Sharma in lead roles. Emraan is playing a character role of Jai, a youngster who has a knack of getting into trouble, who lands up in Australia. Talking about his character, Emraan says,

“This is one of the best characters created in recent times. I am sure it will tug at the heartstrings of people of every generation.”

When asked from Mohit Suri about the inspiration of making movie on this topic, Mohit says,

“As the news flashed ‘Over 20 incidents of curry bashing in Sydney and Melbourne in the past 30 days’, I found myself standing outside a 24-hour convenience store in Melbourne city. Outraged and humiliated, I felt the need to voice this as a film-maker. However, as I left the store my eyes fell upon an advertisement on the window reading ‘Accommodation available for Indian students for Gujrati boys only’.
