Ekta to Come with Parliament Shootout Film!

It seems that Ekta Kapoor is more interested in making controversial and movies based on real situations. This time, Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta are coming with a film based on Parliament shootout. The film will be a sequel of Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007).

Although, Apoorva Lakhia directed the 2007 film, but this time Sanjay Gupta will direct its sequel. For the sequel of Shootout At Lokhandwala, Gupta has already bought the rights of a recent Hong Kong action movie. Ekta has already booker his dates for it.

Gupta doesn’t want to make the sequel based on real-life shootout, whereas Ekta wants sequel based on headlines. Both Kapoor and Ekta are equally adamant about their respective opinions. When contacted, Gupta candidly admits to the conflict,

“Yes, Ekta wants me to make the Lokhandwala sequel into another headline-inspired action film. I love Ekta to death and would any day like to do exactly what she wants. But there is a very practical problem to doing another headline-based Shootout.

There have been no prominent shootout incidents after the 1991 Lokhandwala Complex one. After that there were two major shootouts in our country one was at the Parliament in 2001 and the other was 26/11.”

Gupta doesn’t want to touch either.

“I don’t want to do a film on the Parliament shootout or 26/11.They involved issues and sensitivities that go far beyond cinema. That’s why I bought the rights to the Hong Kong film. But Ekta says she wants to do a sequel based on a real incident. And she won’t budge.”

Now, it’s time to wait, and see whether Ekta would be able to influence Sanjay or not!
