Celebrity News should bot be given much preference : Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi, who is ready to hit the screen with his new film Rush, in which he plays a journalist, feels that media should give more coverage to the real news rather than celebrity gossip stories.

There is more important news out there. If you want to show breaking news – like a star slapping someone in a restaurant – if that becomes a breaking news and runs the whole day, I think that’s something unimaginable. I think, there are some more relevant stories, anything else, but not this.

he said.

The actor also thinks that celebrity news should not be given much preference.

How can you keep playing the loop the entire day? That’s just a no-brainer, there is nothing there, but again the people are watching it.

he added.

About his new film, Rush and his role of a crime reporter, Emraan said:

I remember seeing Aarushi’s (murder) case. I think that was something that baffled everyone at that time and even now… it is something, you know, will always be a kind of question mark.

He added that he followed the news despite his busy schedule and constant travelling.

I think, that is one piece that I have followed the most. It was very shocking because it’s kind of very close to our world. We get shocked when it’s probably close to our world.

he said.

Directed by Priyanka Desai and late Shamin Desai, “Rush” also stars Neha Dhupia, Sagarika Ghatge and Aditya Pancholi and hits theatres Friday.
