Box office story of Teri Meri Kahaani and Gangs of Wasseypur

Directed by Kunal Kohli, Teri Meri Kahaani features Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. In spite of full scale promotions TMK opened with a dull weekend which accounted for the collection of Rs. 15.75 Crore nett (Shahid’s  flop “Mausam” was better than this!!!)

Since the film was sold for around Rs. 42 crore to distributors, it is most likely to cause losses.

But good news is that TMK has done quite okay at the overseas box office (note: we said okay, not good) The film collected Rs. 2.31 crore in the US, Rs. 2.18 crore in UAE, and Rs. 1.69 crore at UK box office over the weekend.

The other release of the week was Gangs of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap and marked the comeback of Manoj Bajpai.

The film managed just Rs. 10 crore in its opening weekend.

The previous week’s release Ferrari Ki Sawaari rounded off its first week collection at Rs. 18 crore and added another Rs. 4 crore over the weekend, hence making the final ten days tally to Rs. 22 Crore.
