Arjun Kapoor to star in YRF’s high budget film Aurangzeb

Upcoming directors make their debut working under Ram Gopal Verma and then they join bigger banners like YRF or Redchillies, this is a very well known fact in Bollywood industry.

For example Shimit Amin who made Ab Tak Chappan for Ram Gopal Verma and then migrated to Yash Raj Films to direct the successful Chak de India and Rocket Singh Salesman of the year.

And now another Ram Gopal Verma  shishya Atul Sabharwal is all set to direct a big budget film for Yash Raj.

The film titled Aurangzeb will feature Arjun Kapoor in double role and is supposed to be a very high budget film (its okay if you are visualizing Jodha Akbar suddenly).

Atul already knows Arjun as he wrote his uncle Anil Kapoor’s murder thriller My Wife’s Murder which Ram Gopal Varma produced.

“That’s when Arjun, then a child, vaguely got to know Atul. To be now directed by him just shows that its small world .And the world of movies is even smaller. Atul wanted to direct his own film for Ram Gopal Varma. But Ramu somehow never got around giving him a chance. Atul came to Yash Raj where he directed an excellent television series Powder. That’s when Aditya Chopra spotted the potential in Atul and asked him to write a screenplay.”

A source says.

Confirming Atul Sabharwal to be the director of his second film Arjun Kapoor says,

“Yes, I am doing the film.”
