Angry Anuraag Kashyap

Though its celebrations time for Anurag Kashyap and his team but the director, Anurag Kashyap is angry from his colleagues as the director has not received the proper response from Bollywood members. Anurag’s Udaan has received much appreciation at the Cannes film festival but Bollywood members did not turn up for the screening.

In-fact, the movie received standing ovation from celebrities like Paulo Coelho who attended the screening.  But Bollywood celebrities who were there did not even turn for the screen. Anurag also canceled the party which he decided to celebrate the success of his first independently produced film, “Udaan”. Anurag said in anger mood,

“UTV wanted to hold a party for Bollywood. I told them, what would you do with a party? People will come and congratulate you with a fake smile. A lot of Bollywood celebrities were present at the festival but none of them turned up for the screening. At the premiere it was just 10 of us. I don’t have any issues. All my life I have felt like an outsider in Bollywood and they still make me feel like that. When any of our films do well internationally I scream from my rooftop to support them but nobody came forward for my film.”

“Bollywood can never be one family. Whenever a film or a sports team represents a country on an international platform, everyone comes together to support it. We were proud of Slumdog Millionaire. It was not an Indian movie but because of its Indian flavour we all felt connected with it.”

Anurag’s anger mood is right on his phase, we celebrate outsider’s joy but when it comes for celebrating home’s joy, we don’t turn up.
