Aishwarya Rai Bachchan overwhelmed on receiving French award on birthday

Beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who turned 39 on 1st November, was honoured by the French government on her birthday, Whole Bachchan and Rai family was present with Aishwarya to support her at the Award Ceremony.

Francois Richier, Ambassador of France to India conferred the honor of ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’ on Aishwarya ,  this award was given to her for her invaluable contribution to the world of cinema and the development of Indo-French cooperation in cinema, art, and culture.

Overwhelmed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan thanked French Government saying,

Want to thank the French government for honouring me with this award. It is truly overwhelming,

Also, I take this opportunity to thank everyone who I have worked with as they made it possible for me to have such a glorious career.

In 2009 Aishwayrya was to be conferred upon the same award but she did not accept it because her father Krishnaraj Rai was unwell.

Amitabh Bachchan was awarded France’s highest civilian award, the Legion d’Honneur in 2007.
