Dabangg has already created a hype before its release. But does anybody know that Abhinav Kashyap has written around 14 drafts before making a final script. Yes that’s true, the director, Abhinav Kashyap confessed that he has written 14 drafts before presenting to Salman Khan.
Abhinav also feels that it will become one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. The filmmaker says,
“It has that potential because Salman Khan is in it. He rocks!
Salman’s Robinhood character called Chulbul Panday struck a chord with the audience. The promos of the film are not only the most-watched promos, they became an instant hit. And I can’t tell you how happy that makes me.
Of course, I’ve worked exceptionally hard on this film. But it isn’t like I had a hardbound script. I wrote 14 drafts because every time I gave a narration to a friend, to my star cast, or even to my brother Anurag, they all made suggestions. All of them asked questions.
My softboard in office has scores of questions pinned up. And I incorporated all those changes in my final draft. I believe that if a script has to deliver then it has to answer the various questions that people who hear the script ask. A good script has to flow smoothly. And since I have followed that philosophy, I’m confident that Dabangg will deliver.
Even at the editing table, changes were made and the suggestions that Salman gave were incorporated. I’m grateful to Salim Khan saab for his suggestions, too. I didn’t write Dabangg with Salman in mind. But in hindsight, I don’t see any other actor being able to play Chulbul Panday. He fits the role to the ‘T’.”
Describing about debutant actress Sonakshi, the director says,
“She is a newcomer but very confident. She’s a friend and a fabulous human being. She is a boon to my project.”
