Kapoor clan snubs Deepika

It is old news that Ranbir and Deepika who were once upon a time, until not too late , a very hot bollywood item, but their relationship turned sour and now the current status is that they are not seeing each other. There were many rumours doing the rounds asd to why the split happened. But that is not the question of contention here. What had happened earlier was that Ranbir’s parents were never too fond of Deepika. Even if Ranbir wants her back into his life, they will not be too thrilled of the fact.

This very fact was further confirmed very recently when it came to light that Rishi Kapoor’s elder brother Randhir Kapoor hosted a dinner for his co-actors from Sajid Khan’s Houseful but didn’t invite Deepika who one of the lead actresses of the movie. Now that would have really hurt, na Deepika?

In fact, this did not go unnoticed and Mr Randhir Kapoor was questioned as to why he didn’t invite Deepika, to which Randhir said that none of the actresses Deepika, Lara and Jiah were invited from the Houseful has been invited. Randhir negated the fact saying , “I have invited only a few friends. The girls are not in Mumbai. The dinner has nothing to do with Houseful. Can’t I have a few friends at my place once in a while.”

However, on the other hand, Jiah told she was trying her best to reach the party but since it’s her uncle’s birthday it was getting difficult for her. We cannot comment on whether  Lara was invited or not but Deepika was surely ignored and left high and dry!

Rani’s latest wish…

After almost a lull in her acting career, Rani Mukherjee was back in the news once again thanks to her latest movie Dil Bole Hadippa. However that too did not make any waves and did not do much for her image. In spite of her weight loss, and her apparent skin show in a bikini, the movie failed to create any thunder for her.

It was then that Rani figured out that she badly needs to do something to regain her fan following. And now, when her filmi graph is sinking even more, Rani is of the opinion that working with Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan might resurface her career.

Rani is aware of the fact that Junaid is a pretty tall fellow and seems to think that they would look good on-screen together . Seems like Rani is trying to say that her chemistry work only with tall co-star, just the way she was appreciated a lot when working with Abhishek Bachchan. Or, maybe after appearing with Shahid Kapoor in ‘Dil Bole…’, is Rani thinking to continue working with younger co-stars . Well whatever be her justification behind the same, we hope this works out and does some wonder for her sinking graph!

Arjun scores a National

It has been menatlity of Indian fillum janta to rubbish off any models which used to enter the film industry. However, Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen with their acting prowess, proved otherwise. But still, things were more or less the same for most of the newbie model-turned-actors. Same was the case with Arjun Rampal who earlier, upon his arrival in the movie world in the late 90s, was labelled as another stone-faced model who cannot act even to save his life.
But all these assumptions of people took a u-turn, with Arjun proving his mettle as an actor, and graduating from one movie to another. He did a commendable job in Don, as well as Om Shanti Om as the negative lead. And who can forget his role as the dejected actor in Rock On! And it is for the very same flick that Arjun has now been handpicked by the 36 th National Film Award Committee to be lavished with their honour.
‘Rock On!!’ fetches Rampal the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award and the flushed with excitement star gushes that he’s feeling, “on top of the world.” Congratulations, Arjun! You deserve it for all the efforts you put in.

Ayesha fumes

Ayesha Takia , the very own doll of indi fillum industry is particularly amused at the rumours doing the rounds these days. And surprisingly, it is not the rumour concerning a link-up, even remotely which has got the sweet Ayesha so very agitated, rather it is the news that her in laws are very conservative, and due to which Ayesha has taken to wearing Burkha now!In fact another version of this story also includes the fact that her new family even opposed her foray into acting.

Ayesha is ther amused at the varied attempts by contemporaries to put her into the retired actress’ bracket after marriage.

‘I’m amazed at the games people play. The other day someone asked me if I’ve started wearing a burqa after marriage,’ laughs Ayesha. ‘Far from feeling clamped, I now have the freedom to do more things than before. My parents-in-law are cool about my business ventures with my husband and my film career.’

‘Farhan (her husband) and I went around together for five years before marriage. So there goes the conservative card. Suddenly after we made it official, I hear all kinds of rumours, including one that I’m out of Revathy Varmha’s film and that I’ve been replaced by some other actress.’

In fact to add another feather in her capo, Ayesha also plans to start up a new business.Talking about the same, Ayesha said, ‘I started working in films when I was only 15. And I just realised I’ve been at it since then. I need to venture out. It’s time to try out new things in life. Today a young woman has so many opportunities. I’m fortunate to have a name and a face that’s recognisable. I want to use that to my advantage and start a clothes line by the middle of next year.’

Ayesha, her mother and sister Natasha will be partners in the apparels business. Excitedly Ayesha raves about the same : ‘All three of us are very excited about doing the clothes line. We love fashion. It’s basically for the girls in the family.’

Ayesha’s husband Farhan Azmi, who is a restaurateur and the son of Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi, will be there to help his wife with the clothes line. Well, we are all happy for you Ayesha!
